By the time you read this, I'll have been bumming around Guatemala for a few days now.
Yes, my beloved readers, I've taken a vacation for myself. And I'm traveling without a laptop computer strapped to me for only the second time since I began this website in 2002. (I'm that dedicated, y'all.)
You wouldn't miss me if it hadn't told you I was gone, alas. I took care of all the astrological writing you could need before I left. (Believe me, I did little else for the week preceding my departure.) Everything at astrobarry.com will be as it should be.
As you read this, I am in a small Mayan village on the shores of Lake Atitlan, visiting my dear old friend Stephanie and her daughter (my goddaughter!) Marley Grace. This is my first visit to Guatemala, so I can't tell you what exactly I'm doing because I haven't a clue. But I'll tell you this much: It involves relaxation, and it doesn't involve the use of consumer electronic devices. (Well, maybe an iPod.)
Next week, I'll be continuing my travels in the colonial town of Antigua. Then, I head across the Honduras border to Copán, a major Mayan archeological site. (I love walking around old ruined buildings. You can smell the ghosts.) All in all, I'll be away for over two weeks.
I'd like to tell you I'll be thinking of you that even, perhaps, colorful souvenirs are currently being purchased and crammed into my bag, so you too may have a taste of Central America. That, however, would be a lie. This vacation is strictly for me, and damn do I need it.
Loving you from Guatemala,
astrobarry
